Adding to an Existing System

If you are setting up a new system, please see instructions in the next section.
  1. Connect your new Terra to your home network. A shielded Ethernet cable is supplied. A Gigabit Ethernet network is required for all Kaleidescape components, however Terra Prime and Terra Prime Solid-State will perform optimally with a 2.5-gigabit Ethernet connection.
  2. Connect the provided power supply to the Terra, and then plug it in. A surge protector or an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is recommended. Please wait a few minutes for your Terra to start up before continuing.
  3. Your new Terra needs to be added to your existing system. This is done from your existing system’s browser interface. Using a computer, tablet, or mobile device that is connected to the same network as your Terra, type http://my-kaleidescape.local/components into your web browser*, or click the link.
*You should see the components in your existing system listed. If you do not, you may have connected to your new Terra instead of your existing system. There should be a Connect to another system link at the top of the page. Click that link and you should see your existing system listed. Click it, then navigate to the System → Components page.
  4. Click the “Add a Component” button at the bottom of the page. You should see your new Terra Prime server listed. Click the button to add your new Terra to your system.

  3. Your new Terra needs to be activated. This is done from your Terra’s browser interface. Using a computer, tablet, or mobile device that is connected to the same network as your Terra, type http://my-kaleidescape.local/components into your web browser or click the link.
  4. You should see a System Activation option. Click the “Activate System” button, and enter an email address.
    • This will be the address that is used for all communications from Kaleidescape, including receipts for your movie purchases.
    • If you already have a Kaleidescape account, be sure to use the same email address so that your existing library can be downloaded to this new system.
You will receive an email within a minute or two with a link to complete your system activation. Click that link and follow the instructions. If you don’t receive this email within a couple of minutes, check your spam folder.
  5. If you are also setting up one or more Strato players, now would be a good time to do that. You may wish to leave the browser interface page open since you will need it to set up your players.
